The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has seven basic purposes that govern its program of work and study. BENEFITS AND PRIVILEGES
Membership benefits include leadership training, scholarships, grants, insurance offerings, group discounts and networking opportunities through attendance at conferences and conventions. A juried professional journal, newsletter and other publication are also provided to members.

HISTORY OF DKG
Dr. Annie Webb Blanton of Austin, Texas, was the founder of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. On May 11, 1929, she and several other women educators founded an honorary Society of outstanding women educators. By 1940, the Society had grown to 392 chapters and 37 state organizations across the United States. Today the Society has grown to more than 100,000 members belonging to over 3000 chapters. Chapters are located in Estonia, Panama, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Iceland, Mexico, Norway, Puerto Rico, Sweden, The Netherlands, Denmark and the United States of America.
